Learn essential first aid and CPR skills with our wide range of courses to meet every need. Courses are delivered in easy-to-follow steps, using practical hands-on components and a variety of training materials.  Canadian Red Cross core First Aid & CPR courses offer lifesaving first aid skills. All courses cover cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)/AED and rescue breathing techniques for adults, children, and babies (according to the level of CPR included). Courses meet legislation requirements for provincial/territorial workers’ safety and insurance boards. Courses offer skills for individuals needing training for the workplace or for those interested in having first aid skills so they can respond to emergencies at home.

Standard First Aid & CPR

Duration: CPR A: 13 hours in-class OR 5.5 hours in-class + 8 hours online learning* CPR C: 14 hours in-class OR  7.5 hours in-class + 8 hours online learning*  Flexible scheduling options.

Comprehensive two-day course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines.

Babysitting

Duration: 7-8 hours. Flexible scheduling options.
Offers basic first aid and caregiving skills for youth 11-15 years old. Participants learn how to provide care to children in a variety of age groups, and how to prevent and respond to emergencies. The course also offers youth the skills to promote themselves as babysitters to prospective families.

Oxygen Therapy

Designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to correctly identify when it is necessary to administer supplemental oxygen. Participants will learn how to properly and safely handle and assemble the equipment and how to correctly deliver supplemental oxygen through the appropriate delivery device. Course can also be combined with Basic Life Support.

Audience: In-facility and health care providers (nursing, care aides, dental industry, medical offices etc.), pre-hospital care groups (fire departments, rescue teams, sports therapists, lifeguards, SCUBA divers, ski patrol, etc.).

Duration: Stand-alone course – 1-2 hours, Combined with BLS – 1 hour

Marine Basic first Aid

Comprehensive two-day course designed to meet the needs of those expected to provide first aid in a marine environment. Course uses a combination of lecture, discussion, and scenarios taken from the marine/fishing industry to teach the required knowledge and skills. Course meets the requirements of Transport Canada outlined in Transport Publication (TP) 13008 E.

Prerequisite:  None, A student does not require a CDN in order to participate in a MBFA course
